New Delhi : According to international media reports, the United States has taken action in connection with the murder case of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canada-based Khalistani extremist who was shot dead in British Columbia, Canada, on 18 June 2023.
Reports claim that US authorities have filed charges against alleged gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his close associate Goldy Brar over an alleged conspiracy related to the killing of Nijjar.
The development comes amid increased international cooperation between law enforcement agencies targeting transnational criminal networks. According to media reports, agencies from the United States, Canada, and Europe have launched a coordinated operation, reportedly named “Operation Hardball,” against international organized crime groups with alleged links to India-based criminal networks.
The operation is aimed at disrupting cross-border criminal activities, including alleged networks involved in organized crime, violence, and illegal operations across multiple countries.
Meanwhile, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of $50,000 USD for information that could assist in the arrest of Goldy Brar.
The case has attracted international attention due to its connections with investigations spanning multiple countries and the involvement of several law enforcement agencies. Authorities involved in the investigations are continuing efforts to track individuals allegedly linked to organized criminal activities and bring them before the law.
The latest developments are being closely monitored as they may have implications for international law enforcement cooperation, organized crime investigations, and diplomatic discussions involving India, Canada, and other countries.
